5 star award for Beccles
Berry M&H Beccles site achieved 5 Star Health, Safety and Environmental award 2nd year running.
In November 2020 the Berry M&H site took part in the 5 Star Health, Safety & Environmental audit. Following this they have achieved a full 5 Stars for the second year running, which was a massive achievement for the site and its personnel. To gain this outcome the site underwent departmental and external tours in line with Covid secure arrangements to ensure the safety of staff was maintained during this process, whilst also giving auditors a true and realistic account of practices throughout the site, including the use of body cams and virtual interviews with staff members.
Joe Rahman Managing Director of the Berry M&H Cluster said of the achievement.
“In our strive for safety excellence, the British Safety Council 5-star audit and Sword of Honour have been great tools in advancing our safety awareness and behaviours in all areas of the business.
We are delighted to have achieved maximum 5 stars in our recent audit and look forward to advancing in our quest for zero accidents. This is a reflection of the hard work and effort of all those involved”.
Having achieved five stars in the 2019 Health and Safety audit this time the team decided to go for the Combined Health, Safety and Environmental audit. The environmental audit ensures a robust management system, follows the correct use of waste streams, and ensures any spillages, material or liquid are controlled or cleared as soon as they occur. Having now gained this impressive achievement the Beccles site are now able to move towards the prestigious Sword of Honour in 2021.
