All about our enhanced UN testing facilities
As reported by Berry Global, our Berry M&H Rushden site has upgraded its in-house facility for the specialist testing of blow moulded containers for UN Dangerous Goods accreditation.
The Berry M&H laboratory is already UKAS accredited to ISO 17025, which means that the laboratory has met both the Management Requirements and the Technical Requirements of ISO17025 deeming it technically competent to produce calibration and testing results. The additional achievement of the BVI accreditation enables the laboratory to carry out tests on containers manufactured throughout Europe.
In addition, due to both customer and our own demand, the site has enabled a sizeable increase in its testing capacity by enlarging the hot room space; which shows how items react under heat differentials. This was achieved through the investment in more compact stack rigs allowing for a better use of the facilities.
The UN Testing Laboratory is able to handle the testing of containers with a capacity of up to 30 Litres. Our Berry M&H laboratory can also test not only freestanding but also combination packs in a range of materials.

- Drops tests on Freestanding Plastic containers or combination packs containing plastic, metal, glass inners up to 2.4m
- Stacking tests @ 40°C
- Air Pressure testing to 1 Bar
