Job Title: Production Planner

Reports to: Planning and Distribution Manager

Location: M&H Plastics, London Road, Beccles, Suffolk, NR34 8TS

Job Purpose:

The main duties will involve the planning and co-ordination of departmental specific production from initial enquiries through to order completion, involving close liason with our existing planning team, production units, sales and purchasing offices.


  • To plan departmental production so as to provide most efficient and cost effective use of available machines, tooling and resource in order to meet customer requirements.
  • To work with production controllers to proactively manage and progress daily production issues to ensure that customer orders are produced both on time and in full.
  • To communicate production issues which affect customer delivery dates to relevant customer contact at earliest opportunity, and work with them to resolve any issues which may arise.
  • To manage material requirements through MRP reporting, ensuring that these are requisitioned via either supplier or purchasing office to ensure continuity of supply to production.
  • Attending weekly meetings to progress new projects from concept through to development and production.
  • To monitor and reduce surplus stocks of both raw materials and finished goods.
  • To produce monthly MOTIF reports detailing departmental KPI’s, and to attend monthly review meetings.
  • To provide adhoc information relating to production outputs, forecasts and capacity.
  • To provide holiday cover for other planning/scheduling functions as required.
  • Any other reasonable adhoc task as requested by management.
